Jewel Diamond

Jewel Diamond is a pegasus who has a love for fashion. She was Rarity's childhood friend. Growing up, the two used to have a positive relationship and shared similar interests. Jewel Diamond was loyal and enjoyed helping Rarity reach fabrics, knitting and sewing tools, and clothing from high places when Rarity was still learning her magic. The two formed a close friendship, although that all changed one night during a fashion show, in which Rarity's clothesline popularity caused Jewel Diamond to develop jealousy to the point of no longer wanting to be her friend. Many years later, a new clothes shop was opened in Ponyville, and Rarity was eager to visit it. After she found out that Jewel Diamond was the owner of the shop, she was happy to see her again. As they talked about how things went in their pasts, Jewel Diamond caught a glimpse of Rarity's clothing sketches, and decided to steal those ideas and work on a new clothesline. The next time Rarity went to visit and found out how her designs were stolen, the two got into a major argument that almost caused both of their shops to close! Nopony wanted to purchase anything from them if they had a negative relationship between each other! Eventually, after a few months of realization, the two decided to reconcile, and Jewel Diamond confessed why she distanced herself from Rarity back then and stole her clothes, citing her jealousy. Rarity then apologized for being so rude to Jewel Diamond in the first place, and the two forgave each other for all their wrongdoings. Since then, the customers have returned, their businesses have begun booming more than ever, and the two have volunteered to help out at each others' stores when needed.
